"Pretending It's Summer" Spring Makeup & Hair

Long time no see! School and life sucked up all my time.. so sorry.
Anywho, the other day I decided to make an effort so I got dressed (for once aha.. I love pjs), put make up on and even curled my hair.

I didn't go anywhere (apart from McDonald's at 2am ;) ) so naturally I took 5386 selfies to document my efforts. These were the only two I liked but I do really like if that's not cocky to say because they're so bright and colourful AND UNEDITED!

My makeup is pretty basic and you can't really see it here but on my eyes is a pinky shade (I'll list all products below) my cheeks are pink and glowy, my lips are a pink and I put a white eyeliner through my waterline to open up my eyes. Super basic but I think it's a nice "spring pinks" makeup, fresh and quite natural looking. If I do say so myself.

For my hair I curled it with the babyliss curling wand (again I'll link below) and put a sh*t ton of hair spray on because my never holds curls. I have to admit my hair has never curled so well. I'm not sure if it's the wand or the fact that my hair is short now. Speaking of being short, since it's short I didn't achieve the beautiful long feminine curls I was after and instead look like I have a birds nest on my head. I kind of like it though, it's playful and a tad out there which is cool with me :) I'm certainly going to curl my hair more often.. though I should probably invest in a heat defence. Always use protection ;)

With the makeup, hair, tie dye to and dungarees I love this look and will certainly wear it again through spring and summer!

What do you think?

Products used:

Bronzer and Highlight- Collection Contour Kit £3.99

TRESemme Extra Hold Hair Spray 500ml £5.25 (though I got it cheaper at bodycare)

Top- Poor Boy in Hull

Dungerees- Newlook (for years ago though)

Thanks for reading! should post more content soon so stay tuned and don't forget to follow so you don't miss it!

Love ya, bye!

FOTD: Go To Makeup

I get poesy when no one answers my texts haha. I don't wear makeup everyday -mainly because I'm always late so I don't have the time- but when I have been wearing makeup, this has been my go to look. I'm in love with Velvet teddy by M.A.C and have been reaching for it every time I put makeup on. I haven't even worn my beloved red lips in a while and it's Christmas! I better change that. Anywho, I based the rest of the look on the lips. Since the lips are brown-ish I bronzed my face and contoured a little, I then put the bronzer through my crease in a dome shape to suit my slightly hooded eyes. Then blush, highlight and mascara and boom, out the door. My eyebrows are a bit cray cray, I plucked them the other day and they look a tone better then they did before but I'm thinking of starting to fill them in.. I don't know if I'm brave enough through aha.

Autumn Lip Picks

I was supposed to do this post donkey's years ago, hence the Halloween decorations but these will work in the winter too. plus it's still technically Autumn.

As the leaves turn colour so do most peoples lipstick colours (though personally I wear these all year round) I when through my lipsticks and sourced out all the browns, berries and reds and photographed them for you :) Most of these are reds and berry colours but the ones on the left are more natural and brown toned.

From left to right: Rimmel Kate Moss- no. 26 (I think..), Rimmel Kate Moss nude collection- 48, Revlon colourburst matte balm- fierce, Rimmel exaggerate lip pencil- red diva, Rimmle Kate Moss- 107, Rimmel Kate Moss- 101, M.A.C lip pencil- Whirl (also Velvet Teddy but I lost it *sob* but I bought another *purse sob*), and Rimmel Colour Rush Balm- No idea and I'm way to lazy to venture upstairs haha, if you want to know just ask and I'll find out :)

I love autumn and the colder months and all the colours that come with them.

What's your go to Autumn lip?

Halloween Half Skull Make-up

I was perusing my youtube feed one day as you do and I came across Roxxsaurs' video "Half skull makeup tutorial" and it looked cool so I watched it and instantly was like "I HAVE TO RECREATE THIS" and then I watched Chrisspy's video and then someone elses and then Roxxsaurus' twice more (on different days mind you) and then this happened.

It's no where near as good as theirs but to say it's my first real attempt at face painting, I think it turned quite good. If i do say so myself.

If you want to learn how to do this, check out Roxxsaurus and Chrisspy's  videos by just clicking on the links :)

It's super easy so have fun and tag me in your pictures if you recreate it!

#BoologgingWithAl  (get it Boo-logging ;D)

Well that's it for now,
Thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed ^.^
Leave a comment if you want to see me recreate more Halloween things
I hope you have a super fantastic day,

Fairytale Lookbook: Chapter 1~ Maleficent "Mistress of Darkness"

Apologises for the super long title and not gonna lie, it took me like ten minutes to find the "~" turns out it's next to the hashtag :)

Anywho, well this happened.. I got super bored on my day off and turned myself into a Maleficent. I think my mum worries about me now...

I'm going to make this into a series type thing so whenever boredom strikes I can look super fabulous and part of a fairytale, as you do aha. This series is inspired by quite a few things; "The Isle of The Lost" and "Disney Descendants" which is a book I just read and then the film is the follow on from it. They were quite too, they are about the descendants of Disney characters and the story is set in the modern day so it was cool to look at a modern take on the characters and hence one of the reasons I wanted to do this. You'll be able to find the book at most book shops (even the book section in tesco) or order it from amazon and the film is on Disney channel :) Another inspiration was once upon a time which is a series of fairytale characters being trapped in the modern world and it's just amazing. I'm rubbish at explaining things so just watch it and fall in love with captain hook yourself *swoons* also just my love for fairy tales alone was enough inspiration.

I was quite chuffed with my efforts with this, it turned out way better then I thought I was capable of- except for the eyeliner, that was a lost cause *sigh* but such is life.

Also when I was uploading these I accidentally deleted most the pictures from my camera before they had fully downloaded *cry and cry some more* so I only had three and then some I'd taken off my phone so sorry some of the good ones are lost *cry a little more*

But here's what I turned out like..

Believe it or not, I genuinely have friends haha.

For her makeup I did a smokey eye with green on the lid and fade out into purple right up to my brow bone. I attempted to contour like her but it didn't quite work the way I imagined it. I also attempted to do winged eyeliner.. for the lips I used a red lipstick like she wears in the film and I also ran black eyeshadow through my eyebrows.

for the outfit it just wore black clothes like my kimono to try and mimic her cape and for the head I couldn't find any horns in my house so instead I used my black towel wrap and stuck a pick of felt up it to copy the shape of her hat :)

All in all it's not perfect but it sure was fun to do and next I think I'll do snow white (I may of ordered a black wig hehe)

Well that's all folks!

Thank you for reading, I hope you found it somewhat entertaining ^.^
Please leave suggestions in the comments
I hope you have a super fantastic day,
bye!

A Rimmel London Review: New Kate Moss Nude Lipsticks

Well unless you live under a rock (or don't give a rat's arse about beauty.. in which case, unless you're beyond bored, I don't recommend you read this) you'll of probably heard that Rimmel London has launched new Kate Moss lipsticks in a nude collection. I think Kate Moss is a model or something but she could be an astronaut for all I know. What I do know is that Kate Moss' lipsticks are the bomb.com so when I heard about these it was inevitable that I was gonna pick one up, well two actually ;)

I'm pretty sure there are 5 shades in the collection and then one lip barm thing?

I picked up the two darker colours; 45 and 48 as the others looked a little too light for my liking as they looked like they would make me look like I have "concealer lips" which isn't very hot and "you look ill" as my old head of year would say, haha. But I haven't tried them so I can't judge.

So here number 45 and number 48 in my attempt to be photograpery ;)

That photograpy effort tho...

Oh boy, now to attempt to describe them..

45, on the left, is very smiler to my beloved 03 only this is slightly more sheer and pink toned (I think haha) It's also quite similar to my natural lip colour so it just adds a little something without shout "I'M WEARING LIPSTICK", if you know what I mean.

48, on the right, is defiantly my favourite out of the two. It's kind of like a coffee toned nude and reminds me of on Rachel on friends has worn before. I love my statement red lips, as you will know if you read my blog but bold nude lip is very refreshing and I've been reaching for this one a lot!

Please excuse my peach fuzz aha

also please ignore how messy it it is, I did it very quick and rushed

They don't last very long on the lips but they wear quite evenly so there is no weird lines on your lips after an hour or so. Over all, I'm quite chuffed with them, especially 48!

If you're interested you can find them here or in most drugstores :)

And can we give me points for effort for curling my hair? Like seriously it never happens and short hair is super hard to curl aha.

Whale that's all folks!
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed ^.^
Have you tried these out or want to? Leave me a comment!

Half Term Drugstore Haul

I worked  all half term and with the pennies I earned I treat myself to a few things from the drugstore. Thanks Alice :)

First up I bought two nail polishes on my way home of the last day of school (I actually got these from the makeup section in Morrison's but still)

Rimmel London 60 Seconds Super Shine By Rita Ora- daisy days  (£2.99)

This is a bright yellow and works well with pastel colours, which is what I wanted it for. The brush I quite fat so it's super easy to apply and it needs about two coats and then it's also opaque. I have it on two of my nails now and I'm really impressed, its such a happy colour and defiantly a staple for the rest of spring and summer!

Maybelline Superstay Forever Strong Professional Nail Varnish- Pink in the park (£4.49)

This one, like the other is a pastel colour but this is a baby pink colour. It has a fat brush and drys quickly and It needs two to three coats to be fully opaque. I don't normally like pink but it's warming up to me and I can't deny this is gorgeous and also on two of my nails, where it is going to stay for some time!

The other three things I picked up in boots on the way home from work one day.

Maybelline EyeStudio Colour Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow -off and on bronze  (£4.99)

I've wanted one of these for ages and only just cracked and finally got one and let me tell you, IT'S AMAZING! I genially love it! Its so easy to apply and the colour is beautiful. I got is in off and on bronze or something like that which is a shimmery bronze colour and is just gorgeous! All I do is apply some to my lids with and finger or brush and then just blend it out with a fluffy brush and that's it! I also drag some into my waterline and smoke it out with some eyeliner (I just make it up as I go alone basically) I want to experiment with it as most people who's talked about it say they use it as a base so that sounds interesting, only I suck at eyeshadow so I could take me sometime until it looks good XD

Collection Gorgeous Glow Block- blush  (£2.99)

This blush has five shades that you swirl together to give you a subtle natural glow and I can't help but agree that it is gorgeous! I've worn this twice out and both times I've gotten complements and it was only £2.99, so yes I'm very chuffed with it!

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer- nude eclipse  (£6.49)

I remember Louise from Sprinkle of Glitter mentioning something about these a while ago so when I saw them I investigated further.  I was already looking for a nude lipstick so I was automatically drawn to "nude eclipse" However, I wasn't sure what it would look like and was worried it would make me look lip I had foundation on my lips which isn't very hot and as my old head of year would say "you look ill" to the girls who had it on. But I fretted over nothing because I love it (I've so over used that word but I don't care haha) It's slightly darker then my lips and is just stunning! (I can' describe things for the life of me!)

I was very chuffed with these purchases if you can't tell hehe!

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed

Sneaky Drugstore Haul

During the Easter holidays I was back at work and a few times on the way home, me and my sister popped into either superdrug or boots and I bought a few things.. oops?

So what did I buy...
  • Garnier Marcella Cleansing Water- I've heard a few people mention this and seem to like so when I spotted in boots I investigated further. I'd describe it simply as a make-up remover and a very good one at that! I've tried it few times now and I'm truly impressed! It comes off so easily and doesn't irritate or sting my skin like some makeup wipes do.
  • Boots cotton wool pads- Just what I use to take of my makeup :)
  • 52 Goody ouchless elastics- I use this little clear elastics all the time and I manged to lose 52 of them! (reminds me of bobby pins/grips the little buggers ;) )
  • L'Oreal Paris True Match Foundation- I really wanted to try out a new foundation and I've heard a lot about this one so I picked it up. I've tried it a few times and I'm not sure how I feel about yet. It's really runny which I thought was weird and I can't decide whether it makes a difference or not but maybes that's because It's low coverage and maybe that's what is suppose to be like? I don't know..
  •  Rimmel London Exaggerate lip liner in 024 Red Diva- Having not the steadiest hands when it comes to makeup, I wanted a red lip liner as I wear red lipstick a lot way more then I should. Not only dose it make it easier to make it neat, it also makes my lipstick last all night. I went to a party the other week and people kept questioning me about my lipstick and was like "as if it's still on" I was pretty chuffed.
  • got2b Beach matt Mermaid look Texturising salt spray- Mermaid look MERMAID look! Who doesn't want to look like a mermaid? Summer is around the corner so I wanted a salt spray to try out because I've heard so much about them and I wanted to look all beachy and tropical and then I found this! I'm so excited to see if it works!
  • Barry M Gelly hi-shine in Cotton- Again, after being inspire by youtubers and instagram and all things Internet, I really wanted to try white nail polish for this time of the year because it's so bright and looks so classy ;) And I love it!
Whale that's all the lovely things I bought myself, thanks Alice for working so hard hehe

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed ^.^
Have you bought anything nice lately? please share in the comments.
I hope you have a super fantastic day!

FOTD: All Out Casual

Despite being tragically unphotogenic, I quite liked my makeup today :) It's what I would call "all out casual" as the bold lips are like BAM in your face but I'd still and did wear it on a regular day. But then again I'm not one for subtlety ;)

Products used:
  • Rimmel wake me up foundation
  • Collection lasting perfection concealer
  • Rimmel stay matte power
  • Maybelline the falsies- dramatic black
  • Bourjois bronzing powder
  • Bourjois Little Round Pot Blusher Rose D'Or 34
  • Rimmel Kohl eyeliner
  • Loreals super liner
  • collection little mix all about the face
  • Bourjois smokey eyes
  • Rimmel 107
The sad thing is I took quite a few pictures this morning and these were the only three I didn't completely hate XD It's just one of those days haha..

Whale this is the shortest and fastest post I've done..

Thank you so much for reading and I hope you enjoyed ^.^
Please leave a comment telling me your thoughts, would you wear it? Do penguins have knees?
Hope you all have super fantastic day!

Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: First Impression

Here's the sponge dry and at it's original size

And here's it when it's soaked in water and expanded

Now please excuse my weird faces..

Starting off with a clean face.

I applied Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation in True Ivory by putting a few pumps on the back of my hand and dabbing it all over my face with the flat side of the sponge.

Then I used the curved side to blend it in by kind of bouncing it along until my foundation looked more or less seamless.
I then a applied  Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer in True Ivory to the places where it goes straight from the wand thing..

And blend blend blend! I used the pointed end for under my eyes and around my nose.

And voile la! I didn't really need to apply either foundation or concealer on this particular day because I was having a good skin day but I just wanted to try the sponge out :D

So my thoughts;
I like it! It didn't blow my mind or anything and it hasn't converted me to sponges but I'm defiantly going to mix between my expert makeup brush and this. I don't know if it's just because I have bouncy skin (people have actually told me i have bouncy skin XD) but I found the bouncing motion for blending a little weird. Not a bad weird but still weird.. I did find however, that I love it for blending out my concealer rather then using my fingers.
It says on the box to wash it after 1-3 washes so I'm going to wash it after 2. I've washed it once already and noticed that the foundation stain is still there somewhat. It doesn't bother me much because I'm not a germaphobe or anything but after a while it may become gross.

So all in all I think it's a pretty good sponge especially for the value. It seamlessly blend the product and is extremely easy to  use so in the morning if I'm running late and look sleep deprived I can whack on so concealer and dab dab dab and run!
So rating out of 10, 1 being "what even is this?" and 10 being "my precious!" I'd give it a 8 which is good because 8 is my favourite number :)

 Thanks for reading!
Hope you enjoyed ^.^
